General Information: Inhabits rocky or coral reef bottoms from the shoreline to at least 150 ft depth; young individuals commonly occur in mangrove lagoons. Very common in island waters. They feed on fish, crabs and small lobsters. Normally marketed fresh.  Their flesh is considered of excellent quality.  In Tobago waters is highly appreciated and often found alone or forming small groups, mainly on the Caribbean side.
